Mothering Sunday (30 March 2014)

This is Christian holiday that falls on he 4th Sunday in Lent. During the 16th century, people would return to their main church (mother church) of the area, for a service to be held on Laetare Sunday. However, most people in the UK will celebrate this day the same same way as Mother’s Day is celebrated elsewhere.

Mother’s Day (11 May 2014)

The international Mother’s Day is derived from the American Mother’s Day that was first celebrated in 1908. This is a day to celebrate motherhood by giving flowers, chocolates and other gifts.
