A type of single-storey house. It derives from the Hindi word banglā.
In Singapore and Malaysia it is now used to refer to a detached two or three story home.
However the correct term for what people erroneously call a “bungalow” would be a “two-storeyed house” or a “detached house” (one that is not connected to the house(s) beside it).
